Greg James
Greg James is the Founder and Managing Director of the JAG Sports and Education Foundation.
Away from the office Greg is a committed and accomplished sportsman and has competed in the Hawaii Iron man triathlon, the Two Oceans Ultra-marathon and cycled with Lance Armstrong and George Hincapie in the Tour of Courage in Canada. Greg strongly believes in the power of sport and team spirit in bringing about positive change in our country:
“Sports development goes a long way to uplifting a country. Not only is it a unifying force among members of a community, but it also contributes to a sense of pride in one’s identity as a South African. The most important thing is that we are getting the youth off the streets, keeping them active and introducing them to an alternative quality of life, away from drugs and gangsterism.”
Elana Meyer
Elana Meyer is the Chief Executive Officer of JAG Sports and Education Foundation.
Elana Meyer is a passionate runner and SA Olympic Medal Holder. Elana’s main career highlights include:
- Olympic Silver Medal
- Broke world records on six occasions
- Current world record holder over the 21,1km
- A World Champion over 21,1km
Since retiring from international competitive racing in 2005 Elana has focused on using her vast experience to add value to organizations and institutions. In early 2007 she joined forces with the JAG Sports and Education Foundation and is responsible for the running of the Foundation and implementing education programs which promote physical health, emotional well-being and personal achievement in underserved communities.

Bron Villet is the Executive Director of JAG Sports and Education Foundation.
When not working, Bron spends all her time outdoors, mountaineering, rock climbing, running, mountain biking, trailing and offering voluntary time to assist mountain rescue in the Western Cape. She has cycled with the Women’s League, completing 10 Argus Cycle races, amongst other gruelling races, and she substantiates the benefits of running. Another of her interests which challenges her competitive nature, and takes her into the mountains, is Orienteering. Being so active, Bron is cognizant of how beneficial sport is in one’s life.
The opportunity of joining the Foundation offers many prospects to engage across various fronts, to add energy and enthusiasm to the programs, and being hands-on with the children on the programs. “Children are the future of our country. This is an exciting and challenging program to show them that they alone can make powerful choices for their lives, and ultimately contribute towards an powerful society in South Africa.” Understanding the importance of drawing the best out of people, she is well placed to contribute to the JAG Foundation mission statement.
Bron joined the JAG Sports and Education Foundation, bringing vast corporate experience, as well as her links with the NGO sectors. Her personal quest in life aligns with the mission and vision of the foundation, “To make a profound difference to those I connect with in all walks of life” says Bron.
Robbie Fleck
Robbie Fleck is the Executive Director of the JAG Sports and Education Foundation in the Western Cape.
Robbie Fleck played professional rugby for over 10 years representing Western Province, Stormers and South Africa. The former Springbok played 31 tests for his country and was the vice captain of the Springboks in 2001.
Robbie finished off his professional career playing for the famous Bath Rugby Club in the UK. In 2005 he returned to Cape Town after a career ending injury to pursue an interest in business.
Robbie joined the Foundation in May 2007 and has been involved with projects such as Pinelands Rugby Academy and JAG Boland Rugby Academy.
Evert Ferreira
Evert Ferreira is the Executive Director of the JAG Sports and Education Foundation in the Eastern Cape region.
Evert Ferreira is a double provincial sportsman who represented Boland & Border Cricket at provincial level and playing Currie Cup rugby for the Border Bulldogs under current Stormers coach Kobus van der Merwe.
Evert spent eight seasons playing club cricket in Leicestershire, Essex and Middlesex, winning 7 league title’s out of 8 seasons. He was also part of the ECB (English Cricket Board) development program Kwik Cricket that promoted cricket at grassroots level in England, this group used to play matches in the lunch time break at the opening test of the summer at Lords in London.
Evert joined the Foundation in May 2007 and has been responsible for implementation of Mighty Metres running programme in the Eastern Cape and involved with the Sisonke boxing club for youngsters.
